The Langshan is named after the region from where it was obtained by a Major Croad in Victorian times. From that breed came the American Langshan, Modern Langshan and German Langshan and, the original import was named Croad Langshan after the discoverer, thus avoiding confusion with the other developments. The Croad Langshan is a utility breed, which lays deep brown eggs, as well as being a fine table bird. There are also bantams. This book explains the diffwerent varieties and goews into the controversial history which surrounded the Croad Langshan when it was first introduced into England, many believing, quite wrongly, that it was a variety of Cochin.
Poultry management is also explained, thus making the book quite self contained.wwwwww
